Job Description
Technical Execution (onsite & in-house) and remote technical liaison and rendering technical support services for the SCADA & PLC Systems installed base. Responsibility includes efficiently reporting the full life cycle of service execution. The position will require close working with customers’ teams and internal teams.
The position will eventually grow as a Team leader managing technical executions.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Engineering & Technical Support service executions of SCADA/PLC based Control Systems across the customer-base i.e., Oil & Gas, Utilities, Infrastructure & Metros.
- Understand the customer's high-level business challenges for field technical support and match company’s solutions to customer's business and technical requirements.
- Execute field supports and identify areas of improvement on site through upgrading existing systems or adding new components to make the system remain available, updated, sustainable and robust.
- Ability to plan activities in view of changing workload & managing expectations to deliver effective results.
- Willingness to travel to sites across the country for support executions.
- The individual in this position will be responsible for developing, deploying and integrating small to mid-sized automation solutions as part of the strategic improvement plans for the customers.
- This includes tasks such as installed-base evaluation, technical consulting, identifying & incorporating improvements to enhance system’s reliability & availability to reduce process downtime to a minimum.
- Documenting solutions & work performed reports.
- Responding to incidents and problems coming directly from the customers through remote support / On-Site support visits.
- Using existing skills and knowledge as well as appropriate support resources to assist customers to find resolution to their problems
- Organizing support for customer sites for the implementation of fixes and solutions where appropriate, either via discussing directly with customer, via email or phone
- Escalating calls to vendors to resolve any issues where required.
- Assisting all teams within the service department as required.
Qualifications
B. E / B. Tech (Electrical/Electronics/ Mechatronics/Computer Systems)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge & skillset for development, configurations, diagnosis & troubleshooting of SCADA systems (Siemens PCS7 / WinCC SCADA) and asscoiated PLC systems i.e. Simatic S7-400H, S7-300, S7-1200, S7-1500 and legacy system is essential.
- Skillset on server-client based architecture, databases and reporting i.e., Historian, Vintage Point and OPC & 3rd party communication integrations.
- Knowledge & skillset for diagnosis & troubleshooting of Allen Bradley PLCs, GE-IP PLCs/PACs, and Schneider PAC/PLC, is desirable.
- Skillset on other PLC/DCS systems will be considered as added advantage.
- Knowledge of Process Control Systems, Emergency Shutdown Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Fuel Farms and Terminals.
- Knowledge of Process Plant, Utilities operation and Power Distribution will be considered as added advantage.
- Understanding about maintenance techniques such as MPT maintenance planning tables, preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, performing root cause failure analysis, failure mode and effect analysis, Single point of failure studies, MTBF, MTBR, Failure rate etc.
- Flexibility to travel.
- Preferably 2-5 years or above experience in the field of I&E maintenance & technical executions.
- Bilingual with Excellent English fluency.
